The​ ​process​ ​of​ ​making​ ​a​ ​Shiva​ ​Urban​ ​handbag​ ​begins​ ​with​ ​the​ ​selection​ ​of​ ​the​ ​finest​ ​ata​ ​grass.​ ​The​ ​grass​ ​is​ ​then​ ​woven​ ​to​ ​create​ ​a​ ​unique​ ​pattern,​ ​which​ ​is​ ​then​ ​dried​ ​in​ ​the​ ​sun​ ​to​ ​harden.​ ​Once​ ​the​ ​bag​ ​is​ ​dry,​ ​it​ ​is​ ​smoked​ ​over​ ​a​ ​coconut​ ​husk​ ​fire​ ​to​ ​strengthen​ ​the​ ​grass​ ​and​ ​give​ ​it​ ​a​ ​distinctive​ ​glossy,​ ​golden​ ​finish.​ ​Finally,​ ​a​ ​leather​ ​strap​ ​is​ ​attached​ ​and​ ​a​ ​vibrant​ ​batik​ ​fabric​ ​is​ ​sewn​ ​into​ ​the​ ​interior.

HOW​ ​TO​ ​CARE:​ ​Lightly​ ​wipe​ ​the​ ​bag​ ​with​ ​a​ ​soft​ ​damp​ ​cloth​ ​(no​ ​soap)​ ​to​ ​clean​ ​the​ ​dust​ ​off​ ​the​ ​basket​ ​bag.​ ​​ ​Dry​ ​under​ ​the​ ​sun​ ​until​ ​completely​ ​dry.​ ​If​ ​a​ ​piece​ ​of​ ​grass​ ​turns​ ​outward,​ ​trim​ ​it​ ​with​ ​nail​ ​clippers​ ​to​ ​avoid​ ​potential​ ​clothing​ ​snags.​ ​
